GDS Update 10/03/07

Hey all

PRINT POSTER EXHIBIT
We had a meeting Tues to brainstorm on a theme for the Print Poster exhibit, A reminder of what the hell I’m talking about: GDS is coordinating a collaboration with the printmaking department, the Print Poster exhibit will be a juried show of silkscreen printed posters. If one of your designs is chosen you will get an edition (10-15) of your posters printed, as well as have them exhibited in this kick-ass exhibition.
Here are some of the themes suggested for the show:

Printing
Red, white and blue
Art/artist
Meat
Boston
The color pink
Collaboration
Jealousy
Fusion
Theater
Life in space
Light and dark
Abe Lincoln
Fear
Fantasy
Guns
Pop culture
Hallucination
Butts
Body
TV
Destruction
Shapes
Form
Facts
Passion

Please email with your favorite (or top 3) or a new suggestion. Once a theme and color palette are chosen I can put out a call for submissions.

GLOBAL WARMING/SUSTAINABILITY EXHIBIT
Great news, we got the Godine gallery for this exhibit. However we got it around the end of October, so we’re going to have to hustle. This is a good thing cuz we’ll get it out of the way before degree project nonsense. Keep your heads up for further info.

CATALOGUE
Seniors-Don’t forget Wednesday we are meeting reps from Hubcast, www.hubcastinc.com, who want to print our catalogue. This is a sweet-ass opportunity, don’t miss it. Location TBA.

meeting 10/02/07

Hey all

Meeting on Tuesday Oct. 2, 5:20 in the student center.

I would like to discuss both poster exhibits. We need to make some decisions in regards to format, themes etc. in order for Dan and I to go ahead with a call for submissions for both shows. Anyone who would like to have a say on these subjects should come. And of course if anyone has anything else they’d like to discuss, please come.

See y’all soon

Next meeting time/agenda

I think we did this? But it might be a good idea to set a date and post it here, and then everyone can post what they want to talk about so it's not just a big jumbled mess when we do meet.

how to post

click on the orange and white b in the upper left hand side of the page and it will bring you home and then make a new post.

P.s. the office starts tonight

How to Post

In the upper right corner of the browser window, within the blue header, your user name (email address) should show up, next to that should be a link titled "New Post". If you click on that, it will take you to a screen that looks a lot like an email composition window. There's a body field, just like for email, and instead of a subject field, there's a title field. For example, the title of this entry is "How to Post". To publish, simply click "Publish Post". If you are cramped for time and don't want to post quite yet, "Save Now" saves your post as a draft, without publishing it.

Basic formatting is also just like email, except you can use standard html tags to post images, link images, format text, etc.

If you have any other questions or need a quick tutorial let me know!

Posting

Can you guys post instead of comment? That way, we can comment on each issue/topic.
